Privacy Policy
Biliteral is a bilingual reader. It is designed so that the books and texts you read, their translations and your flashcards never leave your device.
Your books, translations and flashcards
Files you import (EPUB, PDF, text), web articles you open and text you paste are stored in the app's private storage on your device. Translations are made on your device with Apple's on-device translation models, and sentence explanations, if you use them, are made with Apple's on-device language model. Your flashcards and reading progress are stored on your device as well. We do not upload, read, analyse or keep copies of any of this. Biliteral has no account system and no server of its own.
If you use iCloud Backup, your device backup can include Biliteral data. That backup is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's terms. If you delete a book, it is removed from the app. If you delete the app, all of its data is deleted with it.
Web articles
When you open a web article, the app downloads that page directly from the website you entered, like a browser would. The website receives your request as it would from Safari. Biliteral does not send the address or the page to us.
Translation language downloads
The first time you use a language pair, your device may download Apple's translation model for that pair from Apple. This download does not include your text.
Purchases
Biliteral Pro is sold as an in-app purchase processed by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. To confirm that a purchase is valid and to restore it on your other devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a random identifier generated by the app, your purchase receipt from Apple, the app version, device model and country or region. This information is used only to provide and restore your purchase and is not linked to your identity. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we do not collect
- No books, texts, translations or flashcards
- No analytics or advertising SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No contacts, location, photos, camera or microphone
- No sale or sharing of personal data
Children
Biliteral does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
